Obituary of Carmela Morelli
Carmela Morelli, of South Hempstead, entered eternal rest on May 19th, 2020 at the age of 81. Daughter of Mary Malleolo, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Morelli & her loving son Dominick Morelli (Elizabeth). She was a loving mother to Janet Schweigler (Kenneth), John Morelli, Steven Morelli (Anita), and Marie Finkel (Stephen). She is survived by her 12 adoring grandchildren; Samantha, Nicole, Steven Jr., Dominick Jr., Caitlin, Lindsey, Melissa, Jenna, Shay, Max, Jake & John Jr.
Carmela grew up in Brooklyn and moved to South Hempstead in 1961 where she raised her family. She worked for Mercy Medical Center for over 20 years then following her retirement, she continued on as a volunteer. Carmela’s zest for life, her unconditional love and kind spirit is what made her the incredible woman she was. She was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dominick Morelli Foundation.
