I met Rory through Kelly when I began working at Lola's in Long Beach. He was always laughing and smiling and cared a lot about his Kelly. Although I only knew him for a short time, I can say he was a good soul. Free spirited, caring for his girlfriend and family, and a genuine fellow. Kelly, you were Rorys rock and the love of his life. He will always be with you. We will never understand the reasoning of Gods actions on calling on the ones we love, be it early or later in life- But God must surely need Rory and I'm sure hes the first to help out with whatever is needed! :)) Rest in Peace Rory Campbell, you will surely be missed by many.I am keeping the Campbell- Truitt family in my prayers and please accept my deepest condolences. Some 20 years ago I had the pleasure of staying as an Au-pair with the Wilson family and my memories of Rory will always be of a boy with such a positive attitude to life. Rory has been a part of my life for over 15 years. Although I haven't seen him in a very long time, we always kept in touch . Even though he was far away he was always close to my heart. He moved in with his cousin (my best friend) Alexis during high school and I have such great memories of those years. Even though he was "the new kid" he fit right in due to his awesome personality. Rory always put a smile on my face and I will miss him (and his Christian Slater voice) forever. My thoughts go out to Rory's family and friends at this horrible time. He was taken too soon :(

Rory James was one of a kind. He was the love of my life, and no matter how rough things could get, I always knew everything would be okay as long as we were together. His smile made me melt, and his laugh was infectious. I so was looking towards the day when I too, could be a Campbell. Some of the best memories I have are with Rory, both before we started dating, and after. He was intelligent, witty, kind and generous, loving and loyal. Rory, You were my best friend in the World. I have had several best friends in my life but in the last 10 years, no one on earth was closer to me and knew the real me on the inside better than you did.
I will miss you more than I ever would have guessed. You were smart, open minded, and very wise in your own way. You taught me many things that I continue to practice to this day. You taught me many things that I still use.
My only regret is that I don't play a little jazz flute so I could blow it up at your memorial.
I'll miss you brother, my life feels significantly less fulfilling without you around.

Somehow the Irish always seem to say it best...
My heart is breaking - as I know yours are. I can’t help but think back on the early days in Sunnyside. I had no family nearby, and Mary, you shared your family with me - Rory and Dolly, Lucy and Bill. Then, when you and Mickey married, you continued to share you ever increasing family with me. Such love and generosity!
You and Rory reminded me of Mom and me: ‘duke-ing it out together’ in the world. I know that a very special bond is forged when one parent and one child face the world together. Without love, there is no heartbreak - but who wants a life without love?
I am so thankful that you and Mickey have each other to walk side-by-side with through the often heartbreaking vicissitudes encountered in the journey of life.

Rory- the older and cooler cousin. I was 9 years old when you came to live with us for your sophomore year of high school in NJ. I remember I had a homework assignment where I had to make a collage of things that represented each of my family members. For you I brought in a Cambells soup label, b/c you had me (and only me) convinced that your uncle invented it. You were always joking around and making us laugh! I also remember ice cream trips to Friendly’s when you gave me piggy back rides and carried me when my siblings were sick of me hanging on them. It was great to have a 3rd brother around… I was so sad when you moved out!
You were always up for a good time and being silly, like when we were at Brent and Megan’s wedding in Rhode Island and I wanted to go on the carousel even though it wasn’t running anymore. You and Kelly were the first to jump onto a horse and pretend to ride it wildly, and the rest of us followed suit. We laughed so hard!
For Alexis’s 80s party last year, you showed up in a retro track suit with aviator sunglasses. You fit right in! Then Kelly told us that it wasn’t a costume, but an outfit you wore all the time… Which made it that much better. Only you could pull that off!
We will love and miss you forever, Rory.
