So sad to see this. We met Bill, and Veronica, in 1986 when our daughters started high school. At the first parents' meeting, we were not sure what to expect, but Bill's outgoing nature and self-deprecating sense of humor made us and the other parents feel comfortable when, during his introduction, Bill advised all that, despite appearances, he was in fact Mary's father and not her grandfather. That broke the ice and established a rapport. Throughout the four years, as our daughters bonded, we saw the Schroeders frequently. The meetings were always enjoyable. Bill attended every soccer game and every social event. After high school and a relocation, we did not see each other often, but always asked about him and sent our regards through his daughter Mary.
Our deepest sympathy to Veronica, to Mary, and to all of Bill's family. We cherish the memories. I just learned from Bill's obituary that we both attended St. Francis College, although at different times.
Love, Eileen and Fred Brown.
