Obituary of Jacqueline A. Hawley

Jacqueline Anne Hawley, age 63 of Lynbrook, NY passed away on 11/29/23.Jackie was born in Rockville Centre, NY to Madelaine and James Hawley on 1/30/1960. She attended Maria Regina High School and graduated in 1978. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in legal studies from St.John’s University. She worked as a paralegal for firms on Long Island throughout her career. When her mother became ill, she lovingly cared for her until she passed. She then cared for her elderly father.

Jackie enjoyed reading, playing the piano, singing in school and church choirs, attending music concerts and broadway plays, cooking for family holidays, caring for her pet cats, and most of all spending time with her family especially her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she adored.

She is survived by her father, James H. Hawley, her brother, James J. (Alison) Hawley, her sisters, Mary (Sheldon) Turnowski, and Veronica (Paul) Metcalfe, her nieces and nephews, Christina (George-Wilhelm), Laura (Gavin), Kathleen (Sean),  Colleen (Scott), Kevin, Jack, and nine grandnieces and grandnephews.Jackie is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Madelaine Hawley.

Jackie was a beloved daughter, treasured sister, and cherished aunt who was devoted to her family. She was a pure soul, with a huge heart, kind spirit, and a smile that lit up the room. We will forever miss her gentle, loving and sweet presence in our lives.
