Obituary of Ronald Kahan
Ronald “Ron” Isaac Kahan, at the young age of 50, was sent home on August 28th, 2021. A heart of gold, he was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and father. The most caring person for not only those of his family, but everyone around him. His sheepish grin could light up an entire room. He was the son of Robert “Bob,” and Janice and brother of Gary. Born in Brooklyn, New York he later moved to Rockville Centre as a kid. He continued to build his life in Rockville Centre, and began to raise his daughters there. He was an incredible father to Scarlett (21), Elizabeth (18), Emma (17), Jake (10), Luke (4), and Patrick (2). His joy came from being a father to his 6 kids. With Theresa he had his three daughters, and later had three sons with his wife Jessica. His love for his wife, Jessica was unmatched. He loved his wife with his entire heart, and was so proud to call her his “beautiful bride.” He was an incredible son in-law to Barbara and Daniel Seidel, and additionally a brother in-law to Kristina, and Danny. Along with being an incredible father, and husband he was also uncle to Jesse (27), Skylar (27), Griffin (23), Lilianna (21), and Gavin (12). Ron was a very patriotic and passionate man. He started his career at FIRECOM in October of 2000 and served residents of Nassau County for 21 years. He was a dedicated member of the Rockville Centre Fire Department for 29 years, and was elected into membership at Live Oak Engine #1, where he was two time Ex Captain, and current Warden. Ron also was a current Fire Commissioner of the Bay Park Fire District. Anything Ron was passionate about he put his whole heart into it. He was a God-fearing, big hearted, strong man. He was taken from his family far too soon. Ron would say everyday that “Today is the best day ever.” and he would repeat that over and over just to put a smile on his wife and kids faces. He put everything into just getting one smile from them. Ron will be incredibly missed by family, friends, and all whose hearts he touched. The wake will be Wednesday 9/1 from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at Glynn Funeral Home in Rockville Centre. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to K9’s for Warriors in Ron’s honor. This is something he cared so deeply about. We know that he would not want everyone dressed in all black so we are asking if you could come in a Captain America shirt, or red white and blue. The funeral service will be held Thursday 9/2 at 7PM at Connect Church in Bellmore.
