Obituary of Thomas J. Finan
Thomas J. Finan of Rockville Centre, NY, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on May 29, 2021.
Tom was born in the Bronx, NY to Mary and Thomas Finan on July 12, 1936. Tom served in the United States Army, before joining the NYPD, becoming a Detective 2nd grade.
Tom enjoyed reading, the beach, the pool, walking Finbar, traveling to Florida in the winter and most of all, spending time with family and many cherished friends. Tom was active in the American Legion, the Elks Club, K of C, Raccoons and Narrowbacks.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia, his beloved children, Patrick, Erin Field and Kevin (Lisa), sisters, Patricia Finan, Marie O’Connell, Kathleen (Frank) Quinn and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Tom is predeceased by his parents Mary and Thomas, his son Thomas, son-in-law Brett Field and sisters Sr. Margaret Finan OP and Ann Clarke. Tom is also predeceased by many brothers in law,sisters in law, his nephew John Paul O’Connell and grand nephew DJ Byrne.
